Lowfat Crockpot Halloween Chili
Ha! Halloween... Garlic. Vampires. Get it?!?

Serves 4

Ingredients

1 lb Turkey breast - skinless ground
1 Garlic bulb - medium, separated and peeled
1 pkg Mushrooms - fresh white 10 oz., cut into quarters
1 Onion - large, chopped
1 Can Tomatoes - 14.5 oz diced in sauce
1 Can Tomato sauce - 8 oz no salt added
1 Can Beans - 15 oz. black, rinsed and drained
2 Tb Ancho chili powder
1 Tb Sugar
1 Tb Worcestershire sauce
1/4 Tsp Cloves - ground
1/4 C Sour cream - light
2 Tb Cilantro - fresh, chopped


Instructions

The night before, brown ground turkey. When you are ready to assemble slow cooker: Bring a small saucepan, filled halfway with water, to a boil. Add garlic, and reduce heat to a simmer for 2 minutes. Drain. Transfer the garlic to a 6 quart slow cooker. Add the ground turkey, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, tomato sauce, beans, chili powder, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and cloves to the slow cooker. Cover, cooking for 8 to 10 hours on low or 4 to 5 hours on high, until vegetables are tender. Serve with sour cream and cilantro.
