Moroccan Pork chops
Serve steamed veges and pita bread.

Serves 4

Ingredients

Qty Unit Ingredient
4 ea Center cut pork loin chops boneless - 1/4 pound each
3/4 Tsp Salt
1/4 Tsp Freshly Ground Pepper
2 Tsp Olive oil
3 ea Onions, thinly sliced
24 pitted dates
3/4 C Apple Juice - unsweetened
1 ea Cinnamon stick
1/2 Tsp Dried Thyme


Instructions

Sprinkle the pork with 1/4 tsp of the salt and 1/8 tsp of pepper. Heat 1 tsp of the oil in a large nonstick skillet and add pork and cook turning once, until browned, about 4 minutes. Transfer to a plate.

Heat the remaining 1 tsp oil in the skillet, and add the onions and the remaining 1/2 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp pepper, reduce the heat to medium. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are softened and turn golden, 11 minutes.

Place 12 dates in the bottom of the crock pot. Add the pork in an even layer on top, In single layers , add the onions, dates, apple juice, cinnamon stick and thyme. Cover and cook until the pork is fork tender, 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low. Discard cinnamon stick, and serve.
