There is just better than coming to to a dinner that is already made and filling the house with wonderful smells. Crock pot recipes are easy and economical choices, slowly braising the toughest meats until they are falling off the bone tender.

Heat letover beef or pork roast with red or green taco sauce and spoon it into warmed tortillas for tacos or burritos.

Another use for leftover roasts is to add BBQ sauce and serve it up as pulled pork sandwiches or BBQ Beek sanwiches.

If your time away from home is a hour or so longer than your desired cook time, refrigerate your crock full of ingredients the night before and use a timer to get a delayed start.

Newer models of crock pots have delayed starts and programmable cook times to switch from low to keep warm until you walf in the door.

Searing the meat beforehand does add flavor if you have the time. I never seem to and all my dinners still get raves from the family. We slow cook about once a week or so and I love coming home to a meal that cooked itself while I was away. There is just nothing easier than that!
