Dinner Ideas - After Thanksgiving - we are so Done with turkey
Hello, and welcome. Get yourself something to drink, pull up a chair and get comfy. We're going to talk about dinner ideas for this week, the week after Thanksgiving. I think I've eaten enough turkey to last a lifetime, or at least until Christmas. So let's plan poultry free dinners for this week. Dinners In A Flash subscribers can choose the menu "After Thanksgiving" and all of the grocery lists and recipes will be added to their planners. Be sure to check over the pantry and grocery lists to be sure to buy only what you need. With this week coming after a spendy week we'll be sure to be budget friendly.
Sunday
Here's what I am thinking, a big pot of Crockpot Chile hot and at the ready in the crockpot and ready for an early Sunday supper, or to be eaten while watching football. Some hot sweet cornbread to go with, and a crispy green salad just to cool things off a bit. If there is any leftover, it will make a nice snack over some crunchy corn chips, and would also do really well packed up to take for a lunch.
Monday - Bacon
Yikes. Back to work after the holiday, let's ease the transition with bacon. Really, I think a crispy Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Sandwiches on some some really good bread would be just lovely. If you'd like to, add some delicious Butternut Prosciutto Soup . Pack some of that soup up to take for lunch tomorrow. That soup also works well with pumpkin or acorn, delicata or kombocha squash too.
Tuesday - Easy Pasta
How about some Creamy Herbed Pasta with Peas and Parmesan? Delicious. Serve it with a green salad, or not. You could also add some diced ham if you like.
Wednesday - Shrimp with the Best Sauce Ever
I'm making Roasted Shrimp with Romesco Sauce. Why? Because its just so good. Romesco sauce is so good it is addictive. Start some broccoli steaming before you start the shrimp. In about 15 minutes you'll be serving a meal your family will love!
Thursday - Pork Chops and Applesauce
We'll be making Chili Rubbed Pork Chops. I'll saute up some apples for a tasty side dish may family loves.
Friday - Delicious, Savory Lamb or Beef Steaks with Lucious Biscuits
It's Friday, we all survived the work week, so let's celebrate with some Peppered Lamb Chops. If you haven't tried lamb, you really must. It's like beef, only better. If lamb isn't your thing, try some Chili Rubbed Steak instead. Pair this with some Cornmeal Chive Biscuits and your family will celebrate that you belong to them. A simple salad seals the deal here.Saturday - Easy, Pleasing Pizza
I'm making pizza. My family loves it, it works with whatever leftovers you have on hand and it is easy. Here's what I am making Pizza with Prosciutto, Fresh Mozzarella and Arugula. I top it with the arugula when it comes out of the oven and dress the greens lightly with reduced balsamic vinegar. You can use any vinaigrette though. The bite of the slightly bitter greens pairs well with the creamy tanginess of the fresh mozzarella and the creamy saltiness of the prosciutto.
And for next week ...
I'll meet you back here for more great dinner ideas. Have a wonderful week with your family.
