Season shrimp with salt and pepper. Heat 4 tablespoons oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add shrimp, cooking until opaque throughout, about 3
minutes. Transfer to a bowl and set aside. To make the sauce, in the same skillet, add remaining oil with garlic. Cook until fragrant over medium heat, about 30 seconds. Add canned tomatoes with juice and
2 cups water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until tomatoes have softened and are saucy, about 15 minutes. Remove sauce from heat, and stir in cherry tomatoes. Cook pasta
in a large pot of salted water per package directions. Drain, returning pasta to pot. Add tomato sauce, shrimp, and basil. Season with salt and pepper. Serve garnished with basil.
